About this
Event Description
- Held around a working pub — EMF sweeps by the hanging beam, EVP/spirit-box in the former courtroom, object-movement watches at the bar, and trigger-object experiments.
- No-touch and guide-supervised throughout — every activity is optional, nothing is staged, and no outcome is ever promised.
- Investigation tiers (Premium/VIP) are strictly 18+; Twilight/Family tiers are lighter, non-investigation experiences.
A three-night collaboration with the Skirrid Mountain Inn — a working pub in Monmouthshire believed to be around 900 years old and widely called the oldest pub in Wales.
Local history holds that its first floor once served as a courtroom, and that the ‘hanging judge’ George Jeffreys sentenced men to death here during the Bloody Assizes, with rope marks still said to be visible on the beam above the staircase. We work around the inn’s normal trading hours, with the option to stay the night in its own historic rooms after the investigation.
Your night
- Standard Investigation (18+) — a guided investigation of the bar, the old courtroom floor and the staircase, with equipment and drinks.
- Premium Vigil (18+) — extended small-group vigils and optional lone-vigil moments.
- VIP Lock-In (18+) — the full investigation plus an overnight stay in one of the inn’s own historic rooms.
Dates & times
Friday 23, Thursday 29 & Friday 31 October 2026.
Where
The Skirrid Mountain Inn, Llanvihangel Crucorney, Monmouthshire. A small, genuinely old and still-trading building — groups are kept small.
Good to know
- Age policy varies by tier — check the ticket option you pick. Photo ID may be requested for age-restricted tiers.
- These are genuine historic buildings: expect cold, dark, uneven floors and, at some venues, steep stairs and limited step-free access.
- Bring a torch, warm layers and flat, sensible shoes.
- No physical contact takes place. Every vigil is guide-supervised and every activity is optional.
Before you visit
- Entry & timings: Arrive for 7:00pm; Stay-the-Night guests check in on arrival. Photo ID may be requested; no under-18s are admitted.
- Parking & getting there: Free on-site parking is available in the car park to the rear of the inn; the site is rural, so guests without a car should arrange transport in advance.
- Code of conduct: All tiers are 18+. This is a no-touch, guide-supervised event — please follow all host instructions. Anyone who is abusive or under the influence of alcohol or drugs may be refused entry or removed without a refund, and latecomers may not be admitted.
